The body, which was decomposed when found on February 12, 2026, has not been immediately identified and was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Fafi, Garissa County, a 40-year-old man, Yakub Kenadhid, was found dead under a tree.

Police said the body showed no signs of injuries and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Lamu, a human skeleton was discovered in a garden.

Police said the incident occurred in Kafichoni and that the bulls were later identified by their owner.

The victims, identified as Chigumba Mudune, 21, and Tsuma Munyambu, had their bodies set on fire. Police recovered the bodies and took them to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police reiterated that mob justice is illegal and urged communities to surrender suspects to authorities for proper investigation and prosecution.

They said up to four separate cases of mob violence are reported daily across the country and described the trend as worrying.
