Albert Ojwang's family lawyer reveals deceased's injuries
Lawyer Julius Juma has revealed that Albert Ojwang has visible injuries on his head.
Speaking to the media on Monday, June 9, the lawyer detailed that the deceased’s head was also swollen.
Additionally, at the time the lawyer and family representatives saw the body, there was blood oozing from his mouth and ear.
“The body had a lot of injuries on the hand and the shoulder area, but the head was swollen all around,” the lawyer revealed.
“The head was swollen all over, especially the frontal part, the nose, and the ear, and there was a lot of blood oozing from the nose and the mouth.”
Juma added that a postmortem was to be conducted early in the morning, however, that was pushed to later in the afternoon.
The postmortem exercise is expected to shed light on the death of the teacher who died while in police custody.
According to initial reports by the police, the deceased hit his head on the Central Police Station cell wall before his death.

Police added that he was taken to Mbagathi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“NPS confirms that Albert Omondi Ojwang was lawfully arrested by DCI detectives for false publication and placed in custody. While in custody, the suspect sustained head injuries after hitting his head against the cell wall,” read the statement by the police in part.
“Police officers on duty promptly noticed the injuries and rushed him to Mbagathi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
However, many Kenyans have poked holes in the events at the police station.
Notably, owing to public pressure, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja interdicted some of the officers at the station pending investigations.
Among those suspended were the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), the duty officer on duty during the night in question, and the cell sentry on duty.
