Am leading the presidential race with over 65 percent; Raila Odinga says

Raila Odinga says he’s leading the race for the August presidential election and there’s no way he’ll bolt out.

Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has responded to claims that he will boycott the August election if his demands are not met by the IEBC.

Raila scoffed at his opponent, Ruto’s camp for capitalizing on the statement telling them to prepare for a huge defeat in the August polls.

Addressing a rally in Kianyaga in Kirinyaga County on 7, July, Mr. Odinga said that his statements were meant to send a warning to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) that it would not participate in a skewed contest.

“We only wanted to send a warning to IEBC that we will not allow our victory to be stolen,” he said.

Raila Odinga says he’s leading in almost all key counties, including in Mt Kenya, and no way he’ll bolt out.

“How am I supposed to quit a race in which I am leading with up to 65 percent and projected to hit 70 percent by the election date?” Raila wondered.

“Some people wrote that we were planning to boycott the election. We cannot do this when the victory is ours. We are victorious and we cannot do such a thing,” he said.

The Azimio team said they had insider information that all was not well at IEBC.

This was after an expose by the Daily Nation alleging that Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula who’s i Ruto’s camp had dealings with the Greek company printing ballot papers for the August election.

“We know the monkey games they have been playing in there, and we even have evidence that a commissioner bought a building in Mombasa through questionable proceeds. We will take action once we are in power. That building will be taken over by the government and be a Deputy County Commissioner’s office,” Suna East MP Junet Mohamed said.
