Arsenal could close to a possible takeover after Stan Kroenke’s stance was revealed.
The revelations on the Arsenal takeover were made by finance guru Kieran Maguire while speaking to Football Insider.
Kieran Maguire discussed the possibility of Stan Kroenke selling Arsenal to Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani.
The 65-year-old Ambani, who is ranked as the 10th richest person in the world by Forbes, has recently been connected to a bid to purchase Liverpool, but he is reportedly an Arsenal supporter who is open to the notion.
First investing in the North Londoners in 2007, Kroenke rejected Daniel Ek, the creator of Spotify and another Arsenal supporter who wanted to invest in the team, only last year.
Maguire opines that the American may have thought about selling after what happened in Manchester and Liverpool.
“In the world of finance, you never say never,” he told Football Insider.
“Stan Kroenke will have seen the prices touted around for United and Liverpool.
“Given that he is a similar owner to the Glazers and FSG in the sense that he has no real interest in football and sees Arsenal as a financial investment, he will be monitoring things.
“He’ll want to see if there is anyone who ends up not buying Liverpool or United because they want to buy a club in London.
“Therefore, you cannot rule out somebody such as Ambani or his family.
“It would simply be a case of the asking price for Arsenal having gone up because they are benchmarking against other clubs. There is a lot of interest in the market.“
