Arsenal ‘ready to accept’ proposal for Arsenal star as they weigh up shock bid for Timo Werner
Arsenal reportedly ‘ready to accept’ proposal for Lucas Torreira as they weigh up shock bid for unhappy Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
As Lucas Torreira moves closer to a summer transfer, Arsenal is reportedly “ready to accept” Galatasaray’s offer for the star midfielder.
Arsenal are looking to offload a number of fringe players as the club tries to raise funds to secure further incoming signings.
As Lucas Torreira moves closer to a summer transfer, Arsenal is reportedly “ready to accept” Galatasaray’s offer for the star midfielder.
Torreira was acquired from Sampdoria in a deal of £25 million in 2018, and he has spent the last two seasons on loan with Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina.
The Uruguayan midfielder has received a lot of attention this summer amid reports that he may move permanently back to Italy as the Gunners try to reduce their roster in front of the new campaign.
Mikel Arteta’s team at Arsenal has grown by five new players so far during the summer transfer season, and they may look to add more signings.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have received a proposal from Turkish giants Galatasaray for Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners are prepared to accept the deal, which would be a permanent transfer, and the clubs are now waiting for Torreira to agree to personal terms.
Galatasaray has not officially disclosed the exact amount they are willing to pay for the 26-year-old, but Calciomercato reports that he has been given a three-year contract with an additional year’s option and a salary of over £3 million each year.
The Uruguayan international has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates, and the Gunners would prefer to get a transfer fee for him than lose him for nothing in the upcoming summer.
Arsenal weigh up shock bid for Timo Werner

Meanwhile, the Gunners are considering a move for Timo Werner – and the Chelsea striker is open to the switch.
Werner is unsettled at Chelsea and weighing up his future this summer.
Sky Deutschland says Werner is aware of growing interest in his transfer and would prefer old club RB Leipzig or Arsenal over Newcastle if he leaves Chelsea.
The German international is currently on an incredible £270k-a-week, but reports say Werner would be happy to take a wage cut in order to play more regularly.
It’s claimed the attacker might be willing to take a 50 percent pay cut in order to seal a return to Leipzig.
