Arsenal to miss out on their two top transfer targets

Arsenal to miss out on their two top transfer targets as it now appears that Chelsea is more likely to be their preferred destination.

This transfer market will likely be a tough summer for Arsenal due to the lack of Champions League football.

And now, Arsenal set to miss out on Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo and Everton’s Richarlison.

Both players have been linked with moves to the Emirates, especially Arthur but it now appears that Chelsea is more likely to be their respective destination.

The Sun is claiming that Richarlison prefers a move to Chelsea over Arsenal and Team Talk reckons that the Blues are set to hijack Gunner’s move for Arthur.

The Everton hero would command a fee of around £65million.

He arrived for £50m from Watford four years ago and has eyed a move to Paris for two seasons.

For Arthur, Juventus are insisting Arsenal include one of Gabriel Magalhaes or Gabriel Martinelli in a swap deal.

Juventus value Arthur highly despite the fact he was not a guaranteed starter last year under Max Allegri.

It’s claimed they’re seeking a package worth at least €35-€40m (£29.95-£34.2m) to let their midfielder go.

If Arsenal refuses to include either Gabriel or Martinelli in the deal, a straight cash offer may be required.

Other alternatives in the position include Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

Regardless, Arsenal’s decision may be made for them anyway after a second report from CalcioMercato put Chelsea in the mix.

They stated the Blues are interested in a swap of their own that would see Timo Werner move to Turin.

The German arrived for £47.5m in 2020, though has struggled to replicate the scoring form he showed with RB Leipzig.
