Francis Atwoli calls out Uhuru Kenyatta over his statement on Ruto administration after son’s house raid in Karen.

On July 22, former president Uhuru Kenyatta came under fire from COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli for comments he made on television about the police raid on his son’s home.

Speaking in Vihiga County while in the company of President Willian Ruto, the trade unionist wondered why the former Head of State was conducting himself in the manner that he did.

Atwoli attributed Uhuru’s role in the Azimio electoral defeat and questioned how given his “meek” demeanor, Uhuru could possibly support former Prime Minister Raila Odinga win the presidency.

“What made us lose was Uhuru. You even saw the former President on TV. With the way our former leader was speaking yesterday, do you think we would have won the elections?

“We tried our best but we were defeated because Ruto was well-organised. Isn’t it?” he posed.

Even as he criticized the continuing demonstrations organized by the Azimio Coalition, which is led by the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Atwoli maintained his support for Ruto.

“As the people of the Western region under the leadership of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, we will be on the government side,

“I want to thank our people for supporting the President and refusing to take part in the ongoing demonstrations,” the COTU boss stated.

Atwoli remarks come after Uhuru dared Ruto to go after him directly instead of applying intimidation tactics.

“The fact that I have been silent doesn’t mean I am scared. Come for me. What does my mother have to do with anything? What does my son have to do with anything?” Uhuru wondered.

Atwoli dumped Azimio for Kenya Kwanza after Raila lost in the polls and declared support for Raila Odinga.
