Azimio dias allegedly destroyed by goons in Githurai ahead of Raila’s rally in Kiambu County.

A group of boisterous youth temporarily disrupted preparations for the Azimio la Umoja Coalition protest that was scheduled to take place in Githurai by tearing down the dais.

Just before the Azimio caravan led by the former prime minister Raila Odinga arrived, the unidentified individuals stormed the venue and scattered the chairs and the main dais.

The Azimio caravan was set to hold a rally in the region after traversing several towns in Kiambu County in their sustained calls for mass action.

However, the Director of Communications at the Orange Democratic Movement-ODM party Philip Etale assured that the rally would continue after re-erecting the dais. “In Githurai, hired goons dismantled the dais. It is being set up again,” Philip Etale claimed.
