Azimio affiliate parties update their social media pages with the words #RutoMustGo ahead of mass protest

Azimio affiliate parties update their social media pages with the words #RutoMustGo ahead of mass protest.

Affiliates of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya have updated their social media profiles.

The changes came just hours before their charged protests in Nairobi, dubbed “Date with Destiny”.

The #RutoMustGo hashtag has been added to the profile photographs and cover photos of the ODM and Jubilee party Twitter profiles.

The same changes had been done to their Facebook pages.

Gideon Moi-led Kanu also effected the changes.

However, the Democratic Action Party of Kenya and the Wiper parties had, however, not made any changes.

Azimio is holding a rally to pressure President William Ruto to lower the cost of living and also to have the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) open its election servers for audit.

The Azimio side had given the president a 14-day ultimatum to effect the same among other demands which included lowering the cost of living.

Following the lapse of the 14-day ultimatum, Raila led other opposition allied leaders in anti-government campaigns across the country.

The rallies would culminate in a mega protest today (Monday).

According to Raila, they will peacefully march to the State House to present their petitions to President William Ruto.

Meanwhile, General Service Unit (GSU) officers barricaded several roads in Nairobi as protests by the Azimio la Umoja coalition on Monday, March 20, heats up.

There was a heavy presence of officers on several roads both within and without Nairobi CBD in addition to GSU trucks positioned along the roads to prevent the entry of protestors.

Roads leading to the State House including the Procession Way were barricaded allowing only select vehicles to pass through.
