Babu Owino laments Uhuru over Raila’s loss
Babu Owino laments Uhuru over Raila’s loss as the president met the incoming president William Ruto at State House yesterday.
Following the meeting between William Ruto, the incoming president, and Uhuru Kenyatta at the state house in Nairobi, MP for Embakasi East Babu Owino expressed dismay over Uhuru’s contribution to Raila’s loss.
Babu Owino has been one of Raila’s close confidants seemingly unhappy with Uhuru Kenyatta after Raila lost the August presidential polls.
After the Supreme Court upheld Ruto’s win, Babu Owino, who had seemingly sensed defeat even before the seven-judge bench issued their final verdict on the presidential election petition, left tongues wagging after his message to Raila.
“Baba, you will forever be my hero. They played you all along. It was a long con. We live to fight another day,” he said.
Yet again, after Uhuru met Ruto at State House yesterday, Babu, who took to his social media platforms to claim that Uhuru had finally fulfilled his word to Ruto of helping him win the presidency.
Babu said that going by Uhuru’s body language, it was all a long con, alluding that his party leader Raila Odinga was taken for a ride by the outgoing president.
“Thank you, Uhuru Kenyatta, for keeping your word to Ruto. Your body language tells it all. It was a long con. We will still reach where we are going. If we cannot hunt with a dog will use a cat,” Babu said.
Ruto arrived at the State House around 4 pm on Monday and was welcomed by Uhuru and his wife, Margaret.
