Bobi Wine warns Kenya on removing the presidential term limit urging Kenyans to be vigilant and save the country from ‘Musevenism’

Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine, a former presidential candidate and politician from Uganda has advised Kenya against debating removing the two-term limit.

The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party was responding to comments made by Salah Yakub, a Fafi Member of Parliament (MP), who said that MPs who support the government have plans to extend the President’s term limits.

Yakub in an interview with the media after the revelations said that the presidential limit cap should be on age and not the number of years one has served.

He alleged the MPs behind the plot to amend the constitution have been holding closed-door meetings to deliberate on the proposal.

Bobi Wine said Kenyans should be vigilant and save the country from ‘Musevenism’ following the sentiments made by the Fafi MP.

The Ugandan politicians further warned that the suggestion to extend the presidential term limit in Kenya might come from a lone MP but noted that fronting such a ridiculous idea was exactly how President Yoweri Museveni began schemes to remove the presidential term and age limits in Uganda.

“Dear Kenyans, BE VIGILANT. Save your country from Musevenism. This may come off as a lone MP making a ridiculous suggestion, but this is how it starts. Exactly how Museveni began schemes to remove TERM and AGE limits. Defend your Constitution before it’s too weak to defend you!” Bobi Wine tweeted.

Museveni has been in power since January 26, 1986.
