A 24-year-old man from Bomet County is undergoing treatment at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet County after he cut off his private parts.
According to reports, Linus Kiplangat Rono cut off his genitalia before discarding them.
Kiplabotwo Chief Geoffrey Korir said the man bled profusely after the incident, and was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
“His mother saw him limping and upon inquiring, he revealed that he had cut off his private organs,” Korir told Citizen Digital.
Preliminary investigations show that the Bomet man is a known drug abuser in the area.
“We have mobilized community leaders under the Nyumba Kumi initiative to help sensitize the youth against drugs and substance abuse,” the administrator added.
