Activist Boniface Mwangi has disclosed that he will march to State House to give President William Ruto the list of missing Kenyans.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, September 3, after the court freed him together with four others in a case where they were charged with unlawful assembly, Mwangi accused the president of being dishonest.
The vocal activist, who was joined by other activists, carried placards with names and photos of three people who have been reported to be missing.
“We have been vindicated by the courts. We are free and we’re going home. But we can’t go home yet without talking about our brothers and sisters who are missing. When our lying president goes around saying there are not missing people, these are the missing people. We shall march to State House and give Ruto the list of missing people,” Mwangi remarked.
He further claimed that the three missing persons were abducted by the police even as he demanded their release.

“They were abducted by the state. There is evidence. The court gave an order for the police to produce them. They have refused to produce them. Our demand is to release these three men unconditionally,” Mwangi added.
During a town hall session in Kisumu on Thursday, August 29, President Ruto claimed that he did not have a single name of a Kenyan kidnapped during the recent demonstrations.
The president urged families whose relatives have reportedly gone missing to come forward and provide the names so that he could take action.
Meanwhile, acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has been ordered to appear before the court to explain the whereabouts of three missing persons.
