Champions League ‘Curse’ Return To Haunt Guardiola

Champions League ‘Curse’ By Yaya Toure To Pep Guardiola Return To Haunt Manchester City After a Disappointing Defeat.

Despite leading until 90 minutes, Manchester City’s stunning defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday will be difficult to swallow.

The blues, who were aiming for their second Champions League final in two years, were knocked out of Europe’s best football championship by a tenacious Real Madrid side that scored late in injury time to square the tie before talisman Karim Benzema netted the game-winning penalty.

For Guardiola, the result is yet another setback in his pursuit of City’s major objective.

Brought in to win the team the Champions League, the billionaire owners of the club continue their pursuit for the title.

Comments from the agency of former City star Yaya Toure have resurfaced, as they did after City’s defeat to Chelsea last season.

Yaya Toure’s exit from Manchester City was followed by odd comments from his agent, who claimed that shamans would prevent Guardiola from lifting the cup.

Champions League ‘Curse’ Return To Haunt Guardiola

“God sees everything. As a man who acted with Yaya, the legend of the club, which under different pretexts did not give the opportunity to go on the field,” he said.

“He turned all Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from Manchester City. And I’m sure that many African shamans in the future will not allow Guardiola to win the Champions League.”

“It will be like an African curse on Guardiola. Time will tell if I am right or not.”

The African continent turned against him. Football fans even tag him as racist due to his behaviour towards Toure in the latter years of the midfielder’s career.
