Controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie says he's ready to die as he decries police mistreatment in prison

Controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie says he’s ready to die as he decries police mistreatment in prison.

There was an emotional moment at the Shanzu Law Courts as controversial cleric Paul Mackenzie’s case was mentioned.

Mackenzie had the opportunity to address the court during the Friday, August 4, hearing of the prosecution’s request to keep them detained for an additional 47 days.

The clearly irritated Shakahola cult leader decried mistreatment by prison officials accusing them of denying him access to sunlight.

Mackenzie said in court that he had accepted his fate and was prepared to die if the authorities thought they had had enough of him.

Mackenzie dared the officials to kill him and throw his remains in River Yala with reference to unclaimed bodies found in the river.

He explained that everyone, including the officials, would eventually die, pleading with the court to come to his aid.

“Mimi nina uamuzi.

The controversial preacher also asked the court to produce footage from CCTV to absolve him of accusations of reviving his outlawed ministry.

He explained that he found a church established in Shimo La Tewa long before he was detained, questioning why the authorities had not stopped it.

Mbona hilo hajasimamisha,” he said.
