CS Kuria implores on Senate to to excise a conscience ahead of Meru Governor Mwangaza's impeachment trial

CS Kuria implores on Senate to to excise a conscience ahead of Meru Governor Mwangaza’s impeachment trial.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Tuesday penned a message to Senators ahead of Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment trial at the Senate Assembly.

The CS  in a message which he later deleted urged the Senate to excise a conscience decision while voting for the impeachment debate.

In what appeared to be an attack on a prominent Mount Kenyan politician whom he has been holding responsible for Mwangaza’s problems, CS Kuria stated that the senators must resist outside pressure.

“Dear Senators, as you consider Governor Mwangaza’s impeachment motion, vote with your conscience not with your fake Kingpin,” the CS tweeted.

The message came hours before Governor Mwangaza appeared before the Senate Assembly to face an impeachment trial.

The governor will be tried in Senate plenary after being impeached by 59 members of the Meru County Assembly.

CS Kuria is one of Mt Kenya leaders who have shown their backing for Governor Mwangaza.

“I stand with Governor Kawira Mwangaza. This is an evil scheme by someone who thinks that the only way to be a Mt Kenya Kingpin is to bring down other leaders not to solve the problems of our people who are getting desperate by the day. History will vindicate me,” he said.

Similar sentiments were also shared by Council of Governors chairperson Anne Waiguru who expressed her solidarity with the beleaguered county boss.

Waiguru called on the governor to remain steadfast ahead of the senate hearing.
