CS Kuria responds over alleged plan to resign from government

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria dismisses reports that he's planning to resign from the government as CS

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria dismisses reports that he’s planning to resign from the government as CS.

In a statement on Friday, CS Kuria flagged the post alleging his imminent resignation as fake news from a fake X account.

While issuing clarity on the matter, CS Kuria urged Kenyans not to fall for such rumours and instead report accounts spreading such misinformation.

“It has come to my attention that a fake X account has been spreading incorrect information and opinions falsely attributed to me. Please be aware that this account is not mine,” CS Kuria clarified.

“Report the fake account, unfollow, and block the fake account. Thank you for your support and vigilance! Let’s put an end to misinformation together,” he added.

The fake post claimed that the CS threatened to resign from his government role claiming that President William Ruto had ditched Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

According to the flagged post, President Ruto had ditched the DP and had begun working with politicians allied with the opposition parties.

“The reason Ruto is fighting our son Rigathi Gachagua is that the opposition is dining with the government,” the flagged post read.

“I will resign from being the Cabinet Secretary and start protecting my big brother Rigathi Gachagua, who is championing the unity of our region.”

The fake post claimed that CS Kuria would go ahead to vie for the Gatundu South Member of Parliament position in the 2027 General Election.

The allegations come against the backdrop of a growing Mt Kenya political supremacy battle that has allegedly prompted politicians to take sides on the matter.

It comes barely a week after the CS missed the Mt Kenya leaders’ caucus meeting dubbed Limuru 3 which was attended by several Mt Kenya region politicians.
