DCI recovers 20 stolen phones during Madaraka Day event in Homa Bay
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have recovered 20 mobile phones that were reportedly stolen from attendees of the Madaraka Day celebrations held at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County.
The suspects believed to have snatched the mobile phones from the attendees have since been arrested by the DCI.
The recovery operation was initiated following multiple complaints from victims who lost their phones even as large crowds gathered for the national event.

DCI said the recovery and arrest were made possible through coordinated efforts between law enforcement and vigilant members of the public.
DCI said efforts are underway to have the recovered items returned to their rightful owners.
Those robbed were urged to report to the Homa Bay Police Station for further processing on the recovery of the phones.
