DCI detectives rescues two college students in Kitengela after being lured by a female suspect for a meet-up.
Two university-level students who vanished on October 27, 2023, have been found and saved by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigators from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau unit.
The two students were kidnapped after being after being lured separately by a female suspect for a meet-up at a common venue in Nairobi according to DCI report.
The lady then surrendered the 21-year-olds and to her accomplices who locked up at an AirBnB at Elgon View apartments in Kitengela.
After kidnapping the students, two suspects, Brian Ombasa Omoso and Humphrey Hinga, who are thought to have collaborated with the female suspect, sought a ransom of Sh6 million from their parents.
“The suspects, Brian Ombasa Omoso, 25 and Humphrey Hinga, 22 who have since been ushered into our cells are believed to have been working jointly with the female dangerous damsel on the loose to identify and lure targeted victims, in their no-sweat approach to soft life,” DCI stated.

According to the DCI the incident was reported at Kiambu Police Station on Oct 29 and detectives subjected all possible leads to forensic analysis.
It however emerged that the female suspect had used a stolen ID card to register the line which she used to communicate with the male students.
“Relentless search for the victims finally paid off when the terrified hunger-stricken duo was reunited with their kin, but not without a lesson of the existence of masquerades who will do anything for money,” DCI explained.
The detectives recovered an imitation of a pistol, a dagger, subscriber sim cards used to contact the parents, fake front and rear car registration plates (KDD 881M) believed to have been used during the kidnapping.
The DCI is still searching for the female accomplice who tucked away during the operation.
