Details of a meeting between Raila and 'foul-mouthed' CS Kuria

Azimio leader Raila Odinga to host Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria in Bondo, Siaya County

Azimio leader Raila Odinga to host Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria in Bondo, Siaya County.

Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Thursday disclosed that Azimio leader Raila Odinga will be hosting him in Bondo, Siaya County next week to launch an industrial park.

Speaking during the launch of an industrial park in Trans Nzoia County, Kuria said that the agreement came after the two held discussions, with the former Prime Minister agreeing to his request.

The CS declared his aim to take advantage of the chance to educate the opposition leader on issues related to economic development.

“Recently, we were with Raila and I asked him if he could host me at his home area and he agreed. I might teach him a thing or two about development,” Kuria said.

In addition, the CS stated that the Kenya Kwanza government will serve every Kenyan equally, regardless of how they had voted in the last elections.

The Cabinet Secretary added that he will also begin development initiatives in other counties, such as Homa Bay, Kisii, Kisumu, and Migori, in the upcoming week.

CS Kuria has been one of the biggest critics of Raila Odinga in the past, calling him all sorts of bad names.

He has been attacking the Opposition leader Raila Odinga using obscene words, accusing him of becoming a headache to the government.

Kuria even opposed bipartisan talks between Ruto and Raila post the anti-government protests, accusing the Azimio leader of forcing his way to the government.

“So you wait for us to vote for him [Ruto] now you have forced him to a handshake tuachwe kwa mataa. Over my dead body!” Kuria said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, while delivering his speech, Kuria appealed to Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya to join the Kenya Kwanza government to ensure that his constituents benefit from a cordial working relationship with the national government.

Natembeya serves as the Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) deputy leader in the Azimio coalition.

“Governor Natembeya, have you seen a fish floating on air? He was mentored by Michuki during his early years so letting him stay in the opposition is the wrong move, he belongs in the Kenya Kwanza government,” he noted.

The former Gatundu South MP also explained that the government was keen on keeping its promise of creating job opportunities through the launch of the industrial park.

He ordered the contractors to ensure the industrial park is completed within seven months to enable him to bring foreign investors to invest in the project.

“We are beginning with Ksh500 million for the project. I give you seven months to complete it so that we launch it on the fourth month of the coming year.

“My work is to bring in investors which will thus create 30,000 job opportunities in this county. It’s not possible that Trans Nzoia produces 25 percent of the maize in Kenya and yet the residents lack jobs,” he added.
