Ruto to Join other African Heads of State for Africa Food Systems Summit in Tanzania according to State House press statement.
President William Ruto has flown to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to attend the ongoing Africa Food Systems Summit.
According to a press statement by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Thursday, September 7, President Ruto will join other African Heads of State to discuss food security and sustainability for the African continent and world, among other issues.
“President William Ruto among other Heads of State and Government attending the 13th Africa Food Systems Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania today to discuss crucial issues of food security, sustainability, and innovation,” Mohammed said.
“The Africa Food Systems Forum brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including experts, policymakers, and representatives from various sectors of the food industry,” read the Summits programme.
“Networking and Partnerships The forum serves as a unique platform for CEOs to build meaningful connections and partnerships within the food and agriculture sector.”

The Summit, which is being held at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC), is themed “Recover, Regenerate, Act: Africa’s Solutions for Food Systems Transformation”.
As per the Summit programme, the event commenced on September 5 and will end on Friday, September 8.
The food systems summit will also focus on building back better food systems and food sovereignty with youth and women at the center.
Other issues are recovery calls for decisive strategies and actions to rebuild food systems after multiple crises and shocks and regenerating emphasis on the need to regenerate natural capital resources with adaptation practices.
The summit comes a day after Kenya hosted the African Climate Summit (ACS) in Nairobi, attended by at least 17 African heads of state.
The Africa Climate Summit that commenced on September 4 was also hosted by over 16,000 international delegates including diplomats from the United Nations (UN) and Europe.
