EACC shortlists 14 candidates to succeed CEO Twalib Mbarak (LIST)

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has shortlisted 14 candidates in the race to replace outgoing EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has shortlisted 14 candidates in the race to replace outgoing EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak.

In a notice on Friday, October 11, EACC noted that it had received applications from 172 individuals before shortlisting 14 who include 12 men and two women.

Among the shortlisted candidates are Stephen Masha Ngowa (Kilifi), Doreen Nkatha Muthaura (Isiolo), Jackson Kaunda Mue (Machakos), Joseph Vincent Onyango (Nairobi) and Vincent Omari Okongo (Siaya).

Other shortlisted candidates are Peter Lokol Lomulen (PWD, Turkana), Obadiah Kipkoech Keitany Baringo), John Tentemo Ole Moyaki (Kajiado), David Kiplagat Ruto Too (Uasin Gishu) and Abdi Ahmed Mohamud (Garissa).

The list also features Justa Wawira Mwangi (PWD, Embu), Mohamed Abdul Mmaka (Lamu)

, Waweru Karanja (Laikipia) and Paul Ndemo Maina (Kisii).

The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed from November 19 to November 21 at the Public Service Commission (PSC) House in Nairobi.

EACC invited members of the public with any credible information of interest regarding the suitability of any of the shortlisted candidates to submit the information through a sworn affidavit.

The sworn affidavit should be sent through email, i.e., chair@integrity.go.ke, or delivered to the Chairperson of the commission at the EACC Headquarters, Integrity Centre, 3rd Floor, Nairobi.

The outgoing EACC CEO took over from Halakhe Waqo in 2019 following the expiry of his six-year tenure.

Mbarak was sworn in on January 14, 2019, as the second CEO of the commission after it was established to replace the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission in 2012. 

His non-renewable six-year term will come to an end coming to an end in January next year.
