Former IEBC commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe reacts to reports on the suspension of Ezra Chiloba from the Communications Authority of Kenya as Director General.

Roselyn Akombe has elicited reactions after commenting on the suspension of Ezra Chiloba from the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Chiloba was on Monday, September 18, suspended as the Director General of CAK following a board meeting chaired by Mary Mungai.

Reacting to Chiloba’s suspension, Akombe shared a cryptic message that left Kenyans wondering what she was alluding to.

“The tears and pain of a mother, a widow, and orphans are never in vain,” Akombe said. Akombe’s tweet attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans, as the majority said she was alluding to the gruesome murder of former IEBC official Chris Msando.

Kenyans questioned why Akombe frequently refers to the murderers of Msando in cryptic ways.

The former IEBC commissioner was urged to reveal the identities of Msando’s killers rather than making generalizations.

Chris Msando served as ICT director at IEBC at a time when Dr. Akombe was a commissioner at the election commission in 2017.

However, Msando was later found murdered on the eve of the 2017 general election with the mystery of his killing yet to be resolved todate.

Roselyn Akombe has been at loggerheads with Ezra Chiloba who was at the time the commission’s Chief Executive officer (CEO)

The former IEBC commissioner had on Sunday, August 2, 2020, exposed an email she claimed to have received from her former colleague Ezra Chiloba.

In a statement on Twitter, Akombe claimed that Chiloba, who served as the commission’s CEO, had sent her a warning message after she expressed interest in testifying in the mysterious death of the former IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando.

“Do not attempt to rewrite history. Our silence is not your license,” read a text email from a screenshot shared by Akombe.

Citing the alleged warning, Akombe argued that it was ever more necessary for her to testify in the independent judicial inquest into the murder of Msando.

“It confirms my call for an inquiry. Kenyans deserve the truth. I owe it to you,” she captioned the screenshot.

Akombe had announced that she was ready to provide her testimony on the unsolved murder of her former colleague, Chris Msando.

“On this anniversary of my colleague Msando’s murder, could you take this case up in the public’s interest? As I have said in the past, I am ready to testify,” she appealed.
