The memorial of Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla will be held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Friday, April 26th, 2024.
The Memorial service of the departed General Francis Ogolla will be held five days after his burial, at his Alego home, in Siaya County, the family has said.
According to reports, the memorial will be held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
“Additionally, a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata, where he found solace in his biweekly runs,” family spokesperson Joel Ogolla said.
“Let us gather, to celebrate the life of a General who dedicated his life to service, love, generosity, and devotion that touched us all deeply.”
His burial is set for April 21, in adherence to his will, where he asked to be buried within 72 hours of his death.
After the burial, an initial service will be held at his local church in Nduru.

CDF Gen Francis Ogolla died in a helicopter crash on Thursday, April 18 in the Sindar area, Kaben location, Tot division, in Elgeyo Marakwet.
His remains and those of other nine other military officers and servicemen were flown to Nairobi on Thursday night.
The bodies were received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’s Embakasi military hangar where a prayer service was held.
They were then driven in ambulances to Forces Memorial Hospital for preservation.
