“I met with Rigathi Gachagua to discuss the reality of Kenyan politics and the practical steps that should be taken for meaningful reforms. We also discussed the issue of youth unemployment, economic exclusion, and human rights abuse. He shared with me his thoughts about what should be done to exact justice for victims of police brutality, abduction, and extrajudicial killings. I will continue to engage leaders from across the political, religious, and civic space in amplifying the voice of the youth in their quest for change,” he said.
Morara has expressed his interest in vying for the presidency in the 2027 elections.
Gachagua, on his part, has restated often that the Mt. Kenya region will solidly be in the next administration, regardless of his unsuitability to vie for the presidency having been an impeached person.
Others in Gachagua’s fold are Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP’s Martha Karua, and DAP Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa.
Ruto has however dismissed the formation, saying they have nothing on him given that their sole agenda is to unseat him at the expense of development.
