Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced the commencement of interviews for various jobs in Qatar.
In an update on Thursday, October 24, the CS said a Qatari company is working with the ministry to conduct the interviews over the next two days.
In the hospitality and service industry, Mutua noted that the company will be conducting interviews for nurses, commis, demi chefs, chef de partie, kitchen helpers and barbacks.
Runners, waitresses, stewarding supervisors, kids attendants, hotel maintenance technicians, light vehicle drivers and heavy vehicle drivers will also be interviewed.
In construction and technical, Mutua announced opportunities for rigger signalmen, construction helpers, cleaners, storekeepers, electricians, plumbers, masons, tile layers, steel fixers, painters, welders and scaffolders.
Excavator, mobile crane, skid loader, backhoe loader, single drum roller, telehandler, boom truck, water tanker, tipper truck and tower crane operators will also be interviewed.
Interviews for the hospitality and service industry will be conducted at KICC, Nairobi from Friday, October 25 to Sunday, October 27 from 7:30 AM.
On the other hand, interviews and practicals for construction and technical roles will be conducted at the Kabete National Polytechnic.
The interviews will start on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 AM and end on Sunday, October 27.

Participants are directed to dress in black and white or overall where applicable and carry the required documents which include a CV, passport-size photo and a passport.
Mutua stated that if an applicant does not have a passport, arrangements will be made to secure one as soon as possible if they are hired.
“Please ensure you are familiar with your industry and job duties. Only candidates for the listed job openings will be allowed entry,” the statement read in part.
Additionally, Mutua said no fee will be charged for one to be interviewed or considered, adding that requirements for medical, visa processing, air ticketing and other travel modalities will be provided free of charge for applicants who will be hired.
The CS also warned participants from handing over their passport to anyone.
