Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machgu on Thursday officially released the highly anticipated 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.

The best candidate for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams scored 428 marks out of a possible 500.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has announced that the top student in the 2023 KCPE exams scored 428 marks.

Machogu said only two candidates were involved in exam malpractices.

One had a note while the other had a mobile phone.

Machogu announced the results at KNEC Headquarters at South C, Nairobi.

Candidates, their parents, and guardians can access the results through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, SMS platforms, county education offices, and their respective schools.

For the SMS option, the candidates should send their index number, followed by the initials KCPE (in capital letters) to 40054 in order to access the results.

For example, if 23467847002 is your index number, type 23467847002 then send it to 40054.

“Parents and candidates can get their KCPE results by sending the candidates’ results by sending their index number to code 40054. The SMS will be charged at Sh25.”

The SMS platform is available for all mobile networks and will be charged Sh25 each.

This year, the council registered 1.4 million candidates compared to 1.2 million in 2022.

Also, this is the last year candidates will sit the KCPE exams as the ministry works on phasing out the 8-4-4 curriculum.
