Rigathi Gachagua narrates helping IG Kanja land job only to withdraw his security.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday launched a new onslaught attack on Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja over what he termed as failing to return favours.
Speaking on Inooro TV and during a church service at the Christian faithful of Kanunga Baptist Church in Mukurweini Constituency, Nyeri County, the former DP accused Kanja of withdrawing his security detail.
Gachagua alleged that he helped Kanja become the police IG.
According to Gachagua, despite the favours that he extended to the police IG and despite being his neighbour from Nyeri County, Kanja still did not help when his security was withdrawn.
The former DP also blamed the IG for failing to arrest those who planned his attack while attending a funeral service in Limuru, Kiambu County.
”I would like to ask the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, he is a neighbour and a man from here. You know the people who attacked us, their pictures are in the public and most of them have criminal records. Why are you not arresting them and taking them to court?” Gachagua questioned.
”Douglas Kanja who removed my security personnel, I am the one who helped him to get the job.,” he added.
The former one-time lawmaker also insisted that the IG will one day have to be answerable to the people over the betrayal.

He alluded to the recent attack on him and his allies as an orchestrated move by the government while calling for the apprehension of the goons.
”We know that the goons were organized by the government. We know that Kanja will one day have to answer that question,” Gachagua added.
The former second in command has been on a ranting spree since his impeachment over gross violation of the Constitution allegations.
Speaking during a television interview on December 2, Gachagua revealed how some government projects they used to launch with President William Ruto were unpopular. According to him, he resorted to hiding to avoid the wrath of the voters instead.
”Many times I would go with the President and he would start speaking on many issues for between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the mood he is in and depending on the response of the crowd,” revealed Gachagua.
”I would gauge how long he would take while speaking because I had studied him. During this time I would go and mix with the people. They would clearly say they are not interested.”
