“I was misinterpreted”: Ruto finally speaks after his DRC Cow Remark caused a diplomatic tiff
Deputy President William Ruto has spoken out about his controversial ‘no cow’ statements, which sparked outrage on social media.
I was misunderstood, Ruto. Despite having a population of over 90 million people, the second in command said that the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) did not have a single cow.
William Ruto, however, stated his statements were misrepresented during his Bottom Up consultative meeting in Meru.
The DP explained that because Congolese are brilliant musicians and Kenyans are good farmers, the Central African country should import milk from us while Kenyans play their music. This would create a symbiotic connection.
“I had any bad intention with my remarks; what I meant was that we can be selling our milk to them as we play their music, but some misinterpreted that, but I later apologised,” said Ruto.
He noted that all he wanted was for Kenya to find a way of doing business with Congo.
