I’ll give an interim report of feedback from consultations next Sunday; Gachagua

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said he will give an interim report of feedback from consultations at his Wamunyoro home

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said he will give an interim report of feedback from consultations at his Wamunyoro home.

The former DP said that he would file a report on the feedback he got from leaders and religious leaders across the country.

Gachagua has recently been hosting a group of leaders from across the country at his residence saying he is gathering opinions and insights on how the country should move forward.

The former DP said he would have given the feedback earlier, were it not for the overwhelming feedback.

“I had promised that by December 31, 2024, to report on consultations I have been having. I ask for forgiveness for being a little bit late. It is because the responses and feedback were overwhelming,” the former DP said.

“At first, I thought that it would only be people from Mt Kenya who will show up, however, many people from across the country came and I saw it fit not to lock anyone out. On Sunday, February 9, I will find time and give out the report on the feedback.”

Gachagua promised to continue holding conversations with leaders across the country on how best to move the country forward.

He spoke on Sunday during a church service at Almighty God Ministries Church in Mathioya, Murang’a County.

On Saturday, Gachagua revealed what leaders were saying from the ongoing consultations he has been having.

Gachagua on Saturday met with a team from Samburu County to listen to their views and opinions.

The former DP said that from the consultations he has been having, leaders and Kenyans said the solutions to the problems lie within the citizens.

“Today, I met a team from Samburu County and listened to their views and opinions on the various issues around our country and their expectations and ideas on how to deal with them,” Gachagua said in a statement on X.

“One of the most impressive things I have experienced during these consultations is that Kenyans know what is going wrong, and they have simple and practical suggestions of what we need to do to fix what’s not working. Essentially, the solutions to our problems are within us.”

According to the former DP, what Kenyans need to do is to ensure that everyone feels part of the process they are embarking on.

“We will re-orientate our political discourse. The consultations continue.”

Gachagua who was impeached in October last year has remained active hosting politicians, opinion leaders, church leaders and professionals from the region as he strategises for 2027.

Over the past month, his residence has been a hub of political activities, with delegations from various counties in Mt Kenya flocking to discuss potential political options.
