Journalist Arshad Sharif was tortured for 3-4 hours and shot at close range, postmortem results

Arshad Sharif was tortured for 3-4 hours and shot at close range contrary to initial reports according to postmortem results.

The post-mortem reports of Arshad Sharif revealed that Arshad Sharif’s killing was not an incident of “mistaken identity” rather he was tortured for almost three hours before being shot in the head and right lung from a point-blank range.

According to the Dunya TV report, quoting the autopsy reports, senior anchorperson Arshad Sharif was not fired upon in the moving car, rather he was forced down off the car, and tortured for almost three hours. 

His three fingernails were removed while his two fingers were also broken during the course of torture”, the report informed. 

It said that there were also severe torture marks on the writs of Arshad Sharif.

The TV report said the autopsy revealed that Arshad Sharif was forced on bended knees on road before being shot in the head from the rear and in the right lunge from the front side from a point-blank range.

The report said that the forensic and angle of the gunshots fired on the car clearly pinpointed that the car had stopped.

Later, he was taken back to the car seat to portray the shooting had taken place in the car, the TV channel said.

The report said all the reports of Arshad Sharif’s post-mortem had come except for one. 

The report of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) confirmed that the post-mortem of Arshad Sharif was carried out in Kenya too.
