In a notice on Monday, June 9, JSC invited interested and qualified individuals to apply for the jobs.
“The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, to promote and facilitate the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective and transparent administration of justice. The Commission invites applications from qualified persons to fill the following positions,” the notice read in part.
The vacancies include: Judge of the Court of Appeal (15 posts), Judge of the High Court (20 posts), Judge of the Environment and Land Court (10 posts), and Resident Magistrate (60 posts).
Others are: Resident Kadhi (5 posts) and Resident Magistrate/Adjudicator Small Claims Court (40 posts).
How to apply
Interested and qualified persons are required to visit the JSC jobs portal: https://jsc.go.ke/jobs-2/ for detailed job descriptions, requirements for appointment, and to apply.
JSC noted that the applications should be submitted to the commission by June 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

The notice comes days after Chief Justice Martha Koome declared vacancies for judges in the Court of Appeal, the High Court, and the Environment and Land Court.
In a gazette notice issued on Wednesday, June 4, Chief Justice Martha Koome noted that a total of 45 positions are available across the three courts.
“Pursuant to section 30 of the Judicial Service Act and section 3 Part II of the First Schedule, of the Judicial Service Act, 2011, I Martha Karambu Koome, Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya, for and on behalf of the Judiciary of Kenya, declare vacancies in the Office of Judge of the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Kenya,” the notice read.
