Kalonzo takes over from the former Prime Minister, the late Raila Odinga, who passed on in October 2025.

Philip Kisia has been appointed the new Executive Director. The new information was shared with the Registrar of Political Parties.

Kisia took over from the former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, who resigned from his role before the Council convened the meeting.

In a letter addressed to Uhuru, Tuju informed the coalition party that he had handed over to Philip Kisia.

The shake-up comes against a backdrop of political realignments following the demise of Odinga. Junet has been openly associating with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The Suna MP has also been involved in wrangles within ODM. He is part of a faction that insists that the party maintain its relations with the UDA under the broad-based government arrangement.

His successor, Omondi, has fought for ODM to maintain its independence as a party. The Orange party is among the constituent parties of the Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya Alliance party.
