Kakamega man stabs young brother to death over lost three chickens from his house in Senyende village in Kakamega County.

In Senyende village, Kakamega County, police are investigating an incident in which a man stabbed his brother to death over a missing chicken.

Bonventure Lumwachi, 37, is being held by police after he attacked and killed his younger brother Augustine, 35.

According to reports, the suspect murdered his younger brother, whom he suspected of stealing three chickens from his home.

After an argument over the whereabouts of the chicken, the accused allegedly attacked his brother and stabbed him in the chest with a sharp knife, according to their family.

Shinyalu Sub-County Police Commander Robert Makau said irate villagers attacked the suspect before he was rescued and taken to hospital.

Bonventure is now admitted to Kakamega County General Hospital in critical condition after he was attacked by irate villagers.

“The suspect is undergoing treatment at the Kakamega County General Hospital. He will be charged with murder once he is discharged from the hospital,” said Makau.
