Kalonzo dismisses allegations of secret government talks as 'foolishness'
Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed suggestions that some elements within the opposition outfit were engaged in secret night meetings with the government.
While answering questions in the wake of the unveiling of Wiper candidates for the upcoming by-elections, Kalonzo was asked whether he was aware of a plot to scatter opposition.

In a sharp rejoinder, the Wiper boss dismissed the question and labelled the allegations as mere rumours.
“Forget that foolishness. People will talk; they are our fellow Kenyans. They have the right to imagine. If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.”
During the unveiling, Kalonzo confirmed that his party would field candidates in Ugunja, Kasipul, Kabondo, and Magarini to face ODM’s candidate.
Kalonzo has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, particularly on his stance in opposition.
As recently as on Sunday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen subtly called on Kalonzo to join President William Ruto despite the Wiper boss reiterating he was firmly set on battling the ruling Kenya Kwanza regime.
During the press conference, Kalonzo admitted he had received an invitation from Raila Odinga to attend the 20th anniversary of the ODM party, but insisted that he would turn the invite down.
“Raila wrote me a nice letter inviting me to his event. I’m going to tell him that on the 10th, we will have the Wiper National Delegates Conference. I wish them well, but I will not be there,” he reiterated.
Kalonzo maintained that while he respected Raila based on their political history, there were no talks or deals on the table.
As far as the by-elections, Kalonzo also dismissed the notion that his party would be victimised for competing for the Kasipul seat, which is predominantly a Raila Odinga stronghold.
“I will go to campaign anywhere in Luo Nyanza, these are our friends, they know our history. And no amount of intimidation will come my way. I really cherish defeating both ODM and UDA in Kasipul,” he said.
