DAP Kenya Party leader Eugene Wamalwa has denied reports of receiving funding to support Rigathi Gachagua during the impeachment.

According to a fake poster which was making rounds on social media on Thursday, October 24, Wamalwa allegedly received Ksh50 million to have his MPs vote against the impeachment motion.

It had also been alleged that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka received Ksh100 million to have his MPs vote against the motion.

“Fact or misinformation?” Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale queried Wamalwa over the poster.

“Hope you have been able to separate fact from fiction, my brother,” Wamalwa responded while flagging the fake poster.

Wamalwa and Kalonzo have been vocal against the impeachment process that was done in the National Assembly and the Senate.

According to the two Azimio leaders, Gachagua was not offered a chance to defend himself in the Senate before the final vote was taken.

Notably, the two also visited Gachagua while he was hospitalised during the impeachment process.

“The Legislature is under State Capture by the Ruto Executive. As the People’s Loyal Opposition, we will stand for what is right. There is a violation of the basic rules of natural justice,” Kalonzo stated during the hospital visit.

“No one should be condemned unheard. Deputy President Rigathi was Impeached unheard.”
