Karua calls for political tolerance in campaign rallies as she confronts ‘paid’ hecklers

Karua has called for political tolerance urging ‘paid youths’ to stop insults and helkling in campaign rallies.

Raila Odinga running mate Martha Karua under Azimio la Umoja has called for tolerance during campaign rallies.

Regardless of political differences, Karua urged for mutual respect, noting that Kenyans will still need each other after the August elections.

She called on youths to desist from being paid to disract opponent’s campaign rallies.

“No matter where you stand, we can disagree without insults and heckling. Because after August 9th, we will have to still live with one another,” Karua said in a tweet.

She spoke during a series of political rallies in Mt Kenya region to popuralise Raila Odinga’s candidature for the August elections.

On Tuesday, the NARC leader was treated to a rousing welcome during her tour to her home county, Kirinyaga.

And on Wednesday, she was accompanied by Agriculture CS Peter Munya and several other elected leaders in political tour in Meru.

On Thursday, she took the Azimio campaigns to Chogoria and Chuka in Tharaka Nithi County.

She said Raila’s decision to pick her as his running mate was proof that the former Prime Minister had the interests of Central Kenya at heart.

She added they were on a mission to deliver 90% of the vote-rich region’s votes to the Azimio presidential contender.

“With Munya and I, Mt Kenya interests are safeguarded in Azimio government,” she said.
