Karua dismisses fresh Ruto-Raila talks as more Azimio leaders say there’s no seriouness in the negotiations.

NARC Kenya Leader Martha Karua has rejected a supposedly joint statement from the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio La Umoja Coalitions identifying the main concerns to be covered in negotiations that will be facilitated by the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to the statement released by Ichung’wah, the two coalitions have reached consensus on five key points that will be discussed during the negotiations.

However, on the statement, the signature of Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi was conspicuously missing raising eyebrows whether both parties were involved in its making as claimed.

Karua claimed that the lack of Opiyo wandayi’s signature proves conclusively that the issues were solely of the Kenya Kwanza side, providing apparent indication that they had not been agreed upon by both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio.

She maintained that Azimio’s key agendas remain in place.

“Where do you see Azimio’s signature ?” Karua posed.

“A wish list by Kenya Kwanza. Azimio Kenya issues remain the same with cost of living being no one priority,” Karua said.

Meanwhile, more Azimio leaders have come out to disown the pupported statement saying there’s no seriuosness in the fresh Ruto-Raila talks.

Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai on Saturday said there was no seriousness in the gesture as the document failed to mention the very reason why Kenyans were demonstrating which he said is the high cost of living.

“Our people shouldn’t have died for these jokes. We must be serious. There is no seriousness here,” Alai said.

The MCA said if the high cost of living is not part of the bi-partisan talks, then he will move to join efforts with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to form a similar initiative, but only more serious.

“If the cost of living isn’t part of the negotiations, me and Babu Owino will demand that we have a parallel initiative which is away from this kalongolongo,” Alai said.

Owino in a rejoinder, said he supported Alai’s sentiments.

“I support you 100 per cent Robert Alai,” Owino said.
