Azimio co principal Martha Karua calls DP Gachagua for questioning her association with Azimio leaders in anti-government demonstrations

Azimio co principal Martha Karua calls DP Gachagua for questioning her association with Azimio leaders in anti-government demonstrations.

Speaking on Friday during the interdenominational prayer for the victims of police brutality, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua fired back at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accusing him of profiling Azimio leaders.

Karua said no one in government can choose friends for Azimio leaders.

“They have profiled Azimio, now they are profiling individual leaders that is why they will say ‘don’t walk with Wajackoyah, don’t walk with Maina Njenga’. I want to tell them, you cannot choose friends for me.”

The Narc Kenya leader said if there are people she is not going to walk with, it’s the likes of those profiling others.

“Watu wa Azimio ni sawa, I will walk with them and I will fight for the rights of Kenyans with them,” she said.

Speaking at the same event, Wajackoyah equally fired a salvo at Gachagua saying the DP should leave Karua alone.

The response by Karua came after the DP said on Wednesday that the Mt. Kenya region was embarrassed by Karua’s affiliation with the Azimio bandwagon,  who put sufurias on their heads during protests.

Gachagua specifically mentioned George Wajackoyah, the leader of the Roots Party, as the one who, in his opinion, was responsible for Karua’s “embarrassing” behavior.

“Hii mambo ya kuvaa sufuria kwa kichwa inatuabisha. Huyu mama hata nitamtafuta, najua ni rafiki yangu hata tunajuana, nitamuongelesha,” he said on Wednesday during the launch of affordable housing project in Gichugu, Kirinyaga county.

“Kwanza nimwambie, hii sufuria ambayo anavaa kwa kichwa ni kwa sababu ya kutembea na hii mtu anaitwa Wajackoyah.”

Gachagua said he will look for Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua to dissuade her from continued involvement with “embarrassing” street protests.
