The Azimio presidential running mate in the August polls has said that President William Ruto is not in a position to advise the opposition on how to oversight the government.
In a statement on Friday, Karua said that once someone is your competitor they cannot be able to advise you.
“Your competition can never be your cheerleader or adviser period !”Karua said.
President Ruto criticized the opposition over its protest for the alleged electoral malpractice in the August polls.
The President termed the protests as an attempt by the opposition to blackmail the Kenya Kwanza administration into dancing to the opposition’s tune.
In addition, Ruto’s administration is proposing to create the office of the leader of official opposition as part of what he has called strengthening institutions of governance.

He said such an office will keep the government in check as required in a democratic set-up that calls for strong oversight institutions as pillars of good governance.
His proposal came under sharp criticism as some Azimio leaders came out strongly to oppose the creation of the office.
The opposition has said will not accept a proposal to create the office of the leader of the opposition.
The Azimio says they are not ready to take up the position as they have issues with the outcome of the last presidential election.
