KCPE 2023 exam results to be released on Thursday

Results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam are set to be released on Thursday, November 23

Results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam are set to be released on Thursday, November 23.

According to a communication from the Education Ministry, Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu will officiate the release of the examination results at the new Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) headquarters in South B, Nairobi.

About 1.4 million candidates undertook their KCPE exams and about 1.2 million did the KPSEA exams (Grade 6).

The 2023 cohort was the last to sit the KCPE exams as the ministry works on phasing out the 8-4-4 curriculum.

This comes after Education CS Mr Machogu on Monday revealed that the marking of the 2023 KCPE exam had been finalised

The CS said the release of the result will pave way for the Form One placement exercise, which he said, will take place before Christmas.

He said the early release of the KCPE results will give parents enough time to prepare for admissions in January 2024.

“This will allow parents to prepare the children to join Form One at least the third week of January,” Machogu said during the third Forum for African Women Educationalists Triennial International conference on girl education in Africa.

Schools will open on January 8, 2024, for first term.
