KDF responds on reports of advertising recruitment

The Ministry of Defence has dismissed social media reports that it has advertised recruitment of service personnel and civilian employees in KDF
The Ministry of Defence has dismissed social media reports that it has advertised recruitment of service personnel and civilian employees in KDF.
In a statement on Monday, August 19, the Ministry said the fake advertisement claimed that the exercise would begin on August 26, 2024, to September 9, 2024 and asked interested candidates to log onto the job portal.
The Ministry of Defence noted that KDF has not advertised for any recruitment process and the process is usually done through mainstream media channels and KDF’s verified social media platforms.
“In light of this, the Ministry of Defence wishes to categorically clarify to the public that the KDF has not advertised for any recruitment process, nor is it conducting any recruitment exercise at this time. The Ministry emphasizes that the official KDF recruitment drive will be announced through mainstream media channels, the Ministry’s official website (www.mod.go.ke), and KDF’s verified social media platforms,” read the statement in part.

The Ministry noted that the misleading information on social media is intended to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Kenyans.
“It is important to note that KDF recruitment is free to all eligible candidates. The Ministry urges the public to remain vigilant and to avoid falling prey to such fraudulent schemes,” the Ministry stated.
Further, the Ministry of Defence said it is taking steps to trace the origins of the misinformation and to hold those responsible accountable.
The Ministry urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals purporting to be recruiting for KDF to the nearest Police Station or Military Camp.
