Kenya and Tanzania implicated in child trafficking Epstein files linked to U.S. billionaires
The newly released criminal files of the late United States Billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, who is accused of child trafficking has implicated Kenya and Tanzania in the saga.
Epstein was an American billionaire who was convicted in 2008 of luring minors for sex trafficking and was later re-arrested in 2019 before he died in prison the same year.
After years of secrecy, U.S. lawmakers last year approved the Epstein Files Transparency Act, compelling the government to release records linked to Epstein to the public.
Three days ago, the U.S. Department of Justice released over 3.5 million pages of documents, including emails, photos, and videos connected to Epstein’s activities and investigations into his associates.
Among the African nations whose names have emerged in the list are Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia and Senegal, where Epstein’s activities are extensively mentioned.
The files reference Kenya and Somalia as areas flagged for paedophile activity, while identifying Tanzania and Senegal as routes used in Epstein’s human trafficking network.
The documents name Malindi, which is located on Kenya’s coast, as a haven for paedophiles, with the files alleging Epstein’s close association with a former Kenyan President.

As per the dossier, which disclosed Epstein’s conversation with his associates while in Kenya, most of the messages appeared to be casual travel chatter, flights, safaris, celebrities, and vacation plans.
In another line framed as a ‘joke’ but which raises curiosity and suspicion, the sender writes to Epstein about “bringing a little baby back… or two… boys or girls” from Kenya.
“If the Masai warriors don’t eat us, the pirates from Somalia will. Coming to PB to see you in Jan. Taking photos. Will have a ball and think of you all the time,” the documents read in part.
The files go on to add, “Can bring a little baby back for you….or two. Boys or girls? So Madonna. Will email when we get to Amsterdam.”
On the other hand, Tanzania appears mainly as a transit point in these networks, with mentions of luxury destinations like Mnemba Island being visited by people in Epstein’s circle.
It is worth noting that the mention of these countries in the Epstein files does not automatically prove wrongdoing by Kenyan or Tanzanian officials or institutions.
Several public figures, ranging from journalists to politicians to business leaders, have been mentioned in the released files, but there is no evidence of criminal involvement.
