Kenya Dental Association calls for the release of Dr Omondi well known as Japrado after his abduction by the police.

In a statement on Sunday, KDA expressed deep concern about the whereabouts of Dr Omondi and urged the authorities to handle the matter with transparency and respect for human rights.

“We firmly believe in the principles of due process and call for Dr Omondi’s swift release. The KDA stands in solidarity with Dr Omondi’s family and colleagues during this difficult time,” KDA said.

The Association noted that Dr Omondi has kept to the oath he took of offering care to his fellow countrymen, adding that it will leave no stone unturned in looking for him.

KDA also urged the authorities to join them and ensure his well-being, assuring them to continue monitoring Dr Omondi’s situation closely.

Dr Omondi is alleged to have been arrested around 1.20 pm on Sunday while conducting a blood donation drive at Sikh Union, Ngara, Nairobi.

Earlier reports indicated that Dr. Austin Omondi alias JaPrado had received numerous threats concerning his work in mobilizing over 3000 unemployed Doctors and other HCWS to provide emergency services during the peaceful protests.

The medic was among volunteers helping victims of police brutality during the Reject Finance Bill 2024 protests.

Kenyans have taken to social media to demand the release of volunteer medic, Dr. Austin Omondi who was abducted by people believed to be police on Sunday, 23 June 2024.

A vehicle bearing the registration details KCU 819H was circulated on social media as the one used by the persons who abducted the medic.
