Kenyan journalists complain of being mistreated during King Charles visit to Kenya claiming the whole trip was with filled racial discrimination.

The journalists, led by Africa report writer Mwangi Maina, expressed dissatisfaction about the trip’s pervasive racial undertones.

According to Mwangi, segregation began with transportation and continued with the distribution of stale sandwiches and leftover food.

“Journalists have complained of being segregated from their British counterparts during pool transportation and not receiving proper meals, despite Kenyan taxpayers partly funding this high-level visit,” Mwangi stated.

On the eve of the King’s visit, journalists from the UK were assigned to two busses, while journalists from Kenya were crammed into one marking the the beginning of discrimination according to the journalist.

During the visit, Kenyan journalists reportedly went without breakfast, water, and lunch while journalists from the UK were given packed food.

“The Britons received preferential treatment during meal time, despite the Kenyan and UK state teams agreeing on the distribution of food equally,” Mwangi complained.

The distributed packaged food was reportedly handled by the British embassy in Kenya.

When food was provided to Kenyan journalists, it was usually leftovers left over after their UK counterparts had finished, which is more proof of racial discrimination.

At one point, it was reported that a Kenyan journalist was given stale sandwiches, unwrapped cupcake papers, and used toothpicks.

However, a journalist working for an international media house who covered the event said it was hard to confirm the claims.

“This part is actually very hard to confirm,” he stated on the issue of being denied food and racism claims.

In particular, he said he had spoken to the local journalist alleged to have been given the stale sandwiches but he had said nothing on the matter.

However, journalists from Kenyan media houses admitted that they felt discriminated against throughout the event.

The Royal Family has been accused over a dozen times of racism in the recent past.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle in March 2021 accused the royal family of condoning tabloids’ racist treatment of Meghan.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple further stated that unnamed royals had conversations about how dark their son’s skin tone would be before his birth.
