Leave Raila alone, we’re in government CS Wandayi to Kalonzo

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has warned Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies to leave ODM leader Raila Odinga alone
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has warned Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies to leave ODM leader Raila Odinga alone.
Speaking in Kodiaga, Gem on Monday, during the launch of Rural Electrification Project worth Sh12 million set to benefit 105 households, Wandayi said the trend of leaders aligning with Odinga before elections, only to leave him later, should stop.
“Every election season, people run to Raila, calling him a good man, saying he must save Kenya and fight for the people. But when elections come, they sabotage him,” he said.
Wandayi emphasized that they have made a conscious decision to work with President William Ruto.
“We have made a conscious decision to work with President William Ruto. So Kalonzo Musyoka and your ilk, please leave us alone; we are still hurting as a people,” Wandayi said.
He added that they cannot, as a people, be woodwinked. Kalonzo had earlier beseeched Raila to ditch President Ruto and join them in opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
He asked Raila to claim his space in the opposition instead of joining the government.
“We saw the utterance of the former DP Rigathi Gachagua recently, and if that’s the kind of coalition he wants Raila to join, then he’s mistaken with that kind of ideology,” he said.
He further noted the emerging political formations in the country, asserting that there are only two options moving forward.

“As things stand, there are two political formations: either you are with the broad-based formation where I belong, or you are with the Wamunyoro coalition. There is no third way. Don’t confuse us. Just declare where you stand so that we know how to handle you.”
Wandayi further accused certain politicians of exploiting Odinga’s political struggles for personal gain.
“There are political vultures who have fed on Raila’s political blood. These vultures always want to see Baba languishing in the streets while they benefit politically. Your time is up,” he warned”.
The CS also condemned those who secure political seats while leaving Raila to fight on the streets, vowing that they would no longer tolerate such behavior.
“We have refused this. Now we are telling them enough is enough.”
Wandayi further noted that what they want is unity of purpose.
