Mama Ida Odinga scolds Jalang'o to his face for dumping Raila

Ida Odinga scolds Lang'ata MP, Jalang'o for abandoning Raila Odinga after the general elections

Ida Odinga scolds Lang’ata MP, Jalang’o for abandoning Raila Odinga after the general elections.

Ida Odinga on April 10, criticized Lang’ata, Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, and other former allies for deserting Azimio leader and former prime minister Raila Odinga.

While delivering her speech during the wedding of musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee, Ida noted that the first-term Member of Parliament was her good friend until he pledged alliance to the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Mama Ida, wife to Azimio leader revealed that Jalang’o is her village mate, with only a road separating their homes.

As she spoke in the Dholuo dialect, Ida noted that she considered Jalang’o a son and asked whether the MP would disown her, given their close ties.

She called out Jalang’o for disowning her husband, who has been publicly questioning the legitimacy of Ruto’s presidency.

“Unconstitutional” “I am so happy to see some of my best friends, and some of them were best friends until the elections. One of them is Jalang’o. You know the rule. We come from the same village. Jalang’o, you can disown, really?” a seemingly displeased Ida said in a video shared.

“You know that the Kisumu – Busia Road separates your home from mine,” she stated.

Consequently, she acknowledged the presence of other Raila allies who had recently fallen out with the ODM party, including Uriri MP Mark Nyamita and Raila’s former close aide Silas Jakakimba.

She advised the lawyer (Jakakimba) to find his way back ‘home’ even as she added that she still considered him a son.

“My son Jakakimba you have always been my son. Go and do everything there and come back home,” she advised.

Raila blasted the first-time MP and other ODM party who visited President William Ruto at the State House without the party’s permission.

Raila insisted no MP should endear himself to the Executive so that he or she can get development in the constituencies, as it was Parliament that is mandated to allocate resources.

“If you want to see the president as a person resident in the state House, go. But if you want to go and talk about issues that affect the party, then you must be given permission by the party. These people have been seen for who they are, traitors in the course of a revolution,” he said.

However, Jalang’o stated that his intention to work with the president was to know why Ruto is always winning in every election. ]

According to him, after learning Ruto’s tactics, he would use them in the future when he would be vying for the presidency.
