Manchester City still plotting move for Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka; Whom Arteta can’t afford to lose.

According to recent reports, Manchester City are interested in signing Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

In 14 Premier League games this season, Saka has been one of the Gunners’ most important players, scoring four goals and dishing out six assists.

He has lately starred for England in the World Cup, putting up a particularly good performance in the 2-1 quarterfinal loss to France on Saturday.

Saka began four of England’s five tournament games, and he finished with three goals. He and Marcus Rashford were his country’s top two scorers.

Now, reports claim that Pep Guardiola’s side are keeping an eye on one of Arsenal’s stars.

Future transfer plans for City will reportedly include trying to capture both Saka and his England teammate, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, who is attracting interest from a number of elite European clubs.

Any decision will reportedly rely on how the 21-year-contract old’s negotiations with Arsenal turn out.

The Athletic reported in October that the club was scheduled to begin negotiations with the trio of Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and William Saliba. His current contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Then, last month, Football Insider reported that Saka had reached an agreement in principle on a contract extension for £200,000 per week. However, this information has not yet been made public.

A formal agreement between the two sides is something that Arsenal supporters and manager Mikel Arteta would be urgently hoping for in order to ward off interest from rival teams, such as big-spending City.
