Manchester United dealt a huge blow in midfielder pursuit as he signs a new deal until 2027
Manchester United dealt a huge blow in midfielder pursuit of a transfer target Ibrahim Sangare as he signs a new deal until 2027.
Ibrahim Sangare, who was a transfer target for Manchester United, has extended his contract with PSV through 2027.
Manchester United clearly needs further reinforcement this summer after their loss to Brighton in their Premier League season opener.
Due to the dearth of possibilities in this position, acquiring a midfielder, in particular, is probably high on United’s list.
They now have further midfield problems because Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic have left the team.
Manchester United huge blow in midfielder pursuit
According to Rudy Galetti, Manchester United and PSV midfielder Sangare had recently had negotiations over a transfer cost of about €40 million.
Now, PSV have officially announced that Sangare has signed a new contract at the club until 2027.
Manchester United are likely to have to turn their attention to other targets, and the loss to Brighton only highlighted their need for another midfielder.
Christian Eriksen operated in a deeper role during the game, a position he isn’t so familiar with.
Signing a solid midfielder who can sit and protect the back four will only get the best out of some of their attacking talent, and United will have to act fast to get a deal over the line before the transfer window ends.
