Miguna Miguna warns Mt Kenya leaders against embarrassing DP Gachagua

Lawyer Miguna Miguna opines that the perceived tribulations faced by DP Rigathi Gachagua in Kenya Kwanza are endearing him to Kenyans

Lawyer Miguna Miguna opines that the perceived tribulations faced by DP Rigathi Gachagua in Kenya Kwanza are endearing him to Kenyans.

In a statement on X, Miguna observed that the deputy president’s perceived political persecution would resonate well with the masses, who would, in turn, rally their support behind him.

“By publicly attacking, ridiculing, and embarrassing Rigathi Gachagua, they are building him into an impregnable Mount Kenya populist, loved by the people who are supposed to hate him. And like William Ruto and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Riggy G has learnt that “Kama Mbaya, Mbaya!” is a lethal slogan when squeezed into a corner,” said Miguna.

The deputy president has lately been subjected to vitriol and verbal attacks from a section of politicians who accuse him of tribalism and sabotaging President William Ruto’s administration.

Kikuyu MP and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, has been consistent with his onslaught on Gachagua.

Adding to Gachagua’s woes is the State’s alleged move to prohibit him from flying military choppers, which became apparent on Tuesday, June 11, when he boarded a KQ commercial flight to Mombasa.

Gachagua has been calling for Mt Kenya unity, and a relook into the country’s revenue allocation formula to benefit his fellow natives owing to their vast population.

His calls have, however, been met with objections, those against him, including the president, terming his approaches as tribalist and which would advance the outdated politics of ethnicity.
